Here are what some of our team members say about working with us:

Been here 14 years so must be something good about them! Very supportive, everyone’s skills and inputs are valued. We ‘walk the talk’ and are held accountable. There are no managers sending you off, telling you what to do, we work together to make decisions with the person.

Great place to work, always have lovely food at meetings! Always good to know when I have had a bad day that there is someone to ‘de-frag’ with and talk honestly to, we are supported to work things through without judgement.

It’s about people, their whānau and togetherness

Tautoko Options is a very supportive, positive place to work.  Every day is different. There are frequent opportunities for training and development as well as social interaction and peer support ….and coffee.

We are very people focused and I really appreciate how flexible the organisation is. It’s been a great place to work when having children.

Been here for 19 years, no 2 days are the same, they are interesting, challenging and definitely not boring! We get to see the difference that the right support makes.

It is the best job I have had, such an amazing team, most supportive team I have worked with, really enjoy working at Options.

I enjoy it, there are good to work for and better than other orgs, good to place to work we all get on.

I feel lucky because I get 1:1 coaching. It is an awesome company that ‘backs you’ to achieve what you want to achieve. I get training and advice from everyone.

I wish that everybody worked for an organisation like Options.

For me it’s like a big family where we all connect and have a laugh together and support each other.

I could not work for any other disability organisation in this region, and I certainly could not go back to working in traditional organisations with top-down hierarchy, I love this organisation it is one of the best jobs I have ever had.

How people working with us describe their role:

    • We support people to live as independently as possible and guide and advise them to make decisions. We support people when they need some extra help.
    • We support people in the community to live as independently as possible and be valued members of their community.
    • We support people to live independently get the best out of their ‘good life’.
    • We look at people as a person, get to know them really well and what is important to them. We don’t tell people what to do, our support is tailored to what the person wants and the skills they want to develop.
    • We support people to enable them to better their lives to a point that they may not need us anymore.
    • We are a small organisation working with people with different abilities, supporting them to be as independent as possible and connected in their communities.
    • We tautoko people, walk alongside them and support them to enjoy life.
