Learning together as people take the lead in their lives, creating new opportunities to connect within their communities.
Nau mai, Haere mai

Welcome to Tautoko Options

We are a people organisation that believes everyone needs tautoko (support) to live their life. The quality of our work comes from learning and developing together with people who choose our service. Whanaungatanga (connections and relationships) are at the heart of our organisation.

How did we
get here?

Joining Together for Good

Nā Carol Sebborn
This year is our ten-year anniversary since Tautoko Services and Options (in Community Living) joined forces. It has made me pause to reflect on the past 10 years from my perspective of starting up Options in 1997 and then being part of Tautoko Options…
We had pragmatic reasons for merging because as small organisations determined to put people we support at the centre of everything we do, we were vulnerable to market forces.

How are we measuring up?

Nelson region Ministry Evaluation 2025 Results

Congratulations to the organisation and the Nelson region for their recent Ministry Evaluation results, below is an extract from the summary report and attached is the full report.

Executive Summary:

‘Tautoko Options values expressed in the Te Kauri model are prominently shared with People and staff. We noted many examples of practice aligning with values… Person-centred thinking and planning is central to service delivery, and it was evident that choice and direction rests with People. People expressed a high level of satisfaction with the service they receive and the resulting outcomes. ‘

How we work alongside people.
