What people appreciate about me
- People and goal focused
- Motivating
- Listens with care
- Open to new ideas
- Warm, friendly and creative.
What is important to me
- I like to relax by spending time in my garden, cooking and swimming at least once in the weekend.
- Developing practices that grow person centred organisations, so I need to be working in this area.
- Taking time to research what is happening internationally with empowering models of support.
- Writing up our work/projects to map our progress and share with others.
- To have opportunities to develop my knowledge and skills and to move out of my comfort zone.
- Keeping in touch with people we support, staff and families, listening to their experiences to check if our practices are achieving what people want in their lives.
- Regular catch-ups with Mike and the Options team as well as regular weekly skype calls with Jan and Marie.
- Walking to work when I can, picking up a coffee (flat white) along the way!
How best to support me at work
- Share your ideas with me as I like others to come up with solutions and new ways of doing things.
- I like to be well organised and to schedule planning time into my week, so need reasonable notice of deadlines.
- I will sometimes over commit to work so I occasionally need reminding to invite others to help/contribute or put some things on hold!
- As I sometimes work at home or out of office hours, it is easiest to contact me by cell phone or email.
