How we are funded

Tautoko Services was established in 1996 as a Specialist Service.

Tautoko Services is  registered with the Charities Commission (CC26019) and is governed by a Board of Trustees-for information on our status and current Board members please refer to Tautoko Services at http://www.charities.govt.nz

Tautoko Services is currently funded directly from the Ministry of Health under a volume based contract, which means that there is no charge to individuals accessing our service.

A volume based contract means that when the need for our service exceeds our ability to respond people will receive priority according to the following criteria:

  • early intervention situation
  • people who are in unsafe situations emotionally, physically, sexually (to themselves and to others)
  • people receiving no other service support
  • individuals living with families
  • families in crisis
  • people damaging property
  • length of time waiting for support

We know that waiting is difficult and we would like to work with people as soon as they refer. Usually we do not have enough funding to do this. If you are waiting and your situation changes, please contact us. As soon as you are at the top of the wait list we will contact you.
